Bento lunchbox collection
Gah, I decided to post this picture of all my bento boxes so far, in the hopes of curtailing my purchases. Aside from getting a bowl-type bento lunchbox, I think I have all the types I need covered. The only boxes I have never used yet in this picture are the green putifresh container (since I always default to the yellow one), and the recently arrived red fuku usagi 2-tier bento box. I know that with the boxes I bought on Ebay, I probably paid roughly 2 times what they would be if I could find them at a local store.
The salad was made up out of a failed egg that went thru the egg mould, lol.
What’s in it?Flying fish roe, egg, nori and butter…will repost when the guinea pig’s (my sister :p) verdict on it is up :)
And I don’t think the soba noodles were really soba noodles…they said buckwheat noodles on the packet, but did not cook or taste like soba AT ALL…..so I guess there is a difference between both? I got the recipe for how to cook them at justhungry.com >.
Kamoboko= japanese fish cake
-Seems the banana turned a little browner even after I had soaked it for a couple minutes in some lime juice (I even soaked the peel!), so I guess bananas are a no-no :S How other people do it, I have yet to learn…
- Surprisingly, I was told the salad was rather good :)
